What I Did
Network building
Connected 2,000+ alumni across 20+ countries. Improved data completeness by 14%, collecting information from 1,000+ alumni for NIRF and Ministry of Education reporting.
Event organization
2023 Annual Alumni Meet had 350+ attendees (second-largest in institute history). 2024 meet grew to 550+ attendees (largest ever). Also organized Resume 101, pairing 30+ alumni mentors with 60+ students for career counseling.
Institutional development
Established the Alumni Association from scratch. Inaugurated the Alumni Office. Formed a committee to improve placements, which secured 5 alumni-mediated career opportunities for students.
Operations and funding
Developed procedure documentation for alumni fund flow. Procured ₹3L+ in funds for student activities through systematic fundraising.
Impact
Grew the annual alumni meet from 350 to 550 attendees in one year. More importantly, established structures (Alumni Association, Alumni Office, placement committee) that continue functioning after my tenure. Created direct career pathways for students through alumni connections.
What I Learned
Events produce immediate results - attendance numbers you can point to. But building institutions means creating systems that function independently. The Alumni Association and placement committee continue operating because I documented processes and established clear structures. That sustainability is what made the work meaningful.
